This is My great Grandfather Frank Cox (we all called him Mate)
He is shown here standing on a Muddy Battle field During the first world war. For years we rhought it was taken on a beach, but when i scanned itin and was able to zoom in it showed the Mud on his boots and all around him, and the buildings in the background are Sheds and hospital tents.
He died when i was about 4, one of my only memories of him is him sitting in a chair in the back parlour wih his artificial leg leaning in the corner.
The photo was printed on a post card, dated 1917.
on the reverse in pencil is written To Dora (my great aunt) from your Darling dad. Written above that in pen in my great grand mothers hand writing it says. "I looks like you , but you look so sad". |

I am unfollowing some poeple for the Duration of the situation in Iran. When i see 40+ posts from the same people a day (most of which are less than a twitter length) it kind of pisses me off. believe it or not i have more things in my life than Iran, I strongly support the situation but when i have to Sort through 3 pages of posts from one or 2 people about the same thing to find a post from my family in england it is ... we to be honest utterly fucking rediculous. and when i have 2 or 3 people posting the exact same links over and over again to the same damned news stories some of which are hardly news they are speculation and what is laughingly called "analysis" it makes me start to care less about the genuine issues happening in Iran.
So for the duration if i unfriend you / unfollow you please notice this and dont take offence. Just getting sick of being force fed information i am intelegent enough to find out for my self via the BBC and NPR
Also i am NOT going to tint my Icons Green, this is a redundant and completly purile gesture. If my having a green icon would actually affect ANYTHING in the world i would do it. but it will do nothing .... nothing at all. If it would have any affect except that of showing myself to be a sheep i would do it. |

.... Djedet and I have been watching seasons one and two of the amazing BBC series "Life on Mars" I absolutly love this show, but it has strangely unearthed a dark terror from my child hood.
When the BBC used to close for the night (at 11:30 all programming went off the air) they would play the national anthem and then put a "Test Card" up on the screen. this also appeared if there was a technical fault.
On Life on Mars the little girl from the test card (see image Below) appears and talks to Sam which freaks him out severly. And i suddenly started havingh flash back of the terror this image used to inspire in me a a child.
with the (some what freaked out) eyes of an adult i know know why. her clown doll, for some reason my child brain had decided that the dolls body was made of a glowing green skull. Hmmmm clowns made of green skulls. No wonder this gave me frigging nightmares

I had kind of given up on the acting thing after being analy abused by my captors agent. But the 2 people who were screwing things up at the agency were fired. (one of them did not bill a job i did in October till the end of december, which meens i have to wait 120 days from bill date for payment.) but after venting my spllen at the guy who owns the agency and at least getting some of the money i was owed I decided to give it another go.
Since then I have had one audition for a TV series where i will be the avuncular Host. It is an intersting project for the LDS church (good Bye Beard) where we follow people as they travel around the country following thier geneology, and the places it happened with me asking them salient questions such as "So your Great great great grandfather was hung here as a sheep buggerer how does that make you feel.?"
And i have been put in for parts for 2 natioinal comercials, one for Pacificorp Power which is in the process of buying something in the mid west and east coast, and one for a health insurance company. So all in all it is looking up, we will see what happens. but hopefully things are getting better. |
